Ditch the pins. 505 Temporary Fabric Adhesive Spray is the basting spray quilters reach for again and again — and once you've used it, you'll understand why.

Made in France by Odif and trusted in the quilting and embroidery world for over 30 years, 505 creates a light, repositionable bond that holds your quilt layers together without pins, without stiffness, and without mess. Spray a light coat, position your fabric, and you've basted a quilt sandwich in about 10 minutes — no crawling around the floor placing dozens of safety pins, no puckers, no shifting as you quilt.

Why quilters love it:

  • Repositionable — adjust and realign your layers for the first 15–20 minutes, so you can smooth out a wrinkle or fix a corner before you commit
  • Odorless and colorless — no strong smell, no mist, and it won't discolor your fabric
  • Needle-safe — won't gum up your needle or scissors, which is exactly why it was developed for the commercial embroidery industry
  • No residue — the bond releases when washed and leaves nothing behind
  • Acid-free and CFC-free — safe for your fabric and the environment

Perfect for:

  • Basting quilt sandwiches (backing, batting, and top) without pins
  • Raw-edge and finished-edge appliqué placement
  • Holding stabilizer to fabric for machine embroidery — no hoop marks
  • Paper piecing and temporary fabric placement

How to use it: Work on a protected surface and shake well. Hold the can about 10–12 inches from your fabric and spray a light, even coat directly onto the batting. Position your quilt top, turn it over, and repeat for the backing. A light touch is the secret — too much spray causes stiffness, a little is all you need.

This 6.2 oz can goes a long way and lasts through many projects.
